Detach and play!

I MIGHT'VE mentioned once or thirty times over the last couple of months that I was going to the Wychwood Festival last weekend.

Well here are my highlights (plenty) and low lights - very few and mainly self-induced!!

Umm....YES

The sunshine / the beer / The Leisure Society / breakfast outside / The Epstein / the sheer friendliness of the people there / One String Loose / Kill It Kid / Happy Mondays (even without Bez) / the lovely SongLines crew / the Waitrose Cocktail Bar / Matthew Kilford / 8 hours sleep on the Saturday night / the headphone disco / Dreadzone / Daisy Chapman / Seth Lakeman / interviewing Nick Hemming from The Leisure Soc. / the comedy stage esp. Nick Page (thanks for the glow sticks Alice) Robin Ince and Silky (I am NEVER going to try to interview you again) / the impromptu gig by the beer tent @ midnight by The Ukeholics / Thrill Collins and lots and lots of other stuff....

Umm.....NO

The first night in the tent / missing John Smith, King Creosote and Rook & The Ravens / the hale storm on Sunday / paying £4 for a bottle of lemonade (it WAS past midnight and I WAS slightly tipsy) / not being able to declare my undying love for Steph from Kill It Kid (what with me being married, 46 and fat) / going 3 days without a meaningful wash / err...that's it! Rock on 2011

Invocal weren't there, but their manager was and she pressed an EP into my willing hand. Ironically they are just about to split up, but some of the members are moving onto to other projects.
