Detach and play!

Punk rather passed me by (I was listening to the dinosaur prog-rock of Genesis and the likes of Mike Oldfield in 1976) so that Malcolm Mclaren never really registered with me.

But with his death last week I can look back and see that here was a brilliant self-publicist who could piggy back a trend like no other. Simon Cowell for us oldies?

Here's the video to the oft-sampled Double Dutch from 1983.

Matthew Kilford writes some cracking tunes with a folk/pop feel to them.

He's supported the wonderful The Low Anthem in New York, played with Seth Lakeman and he'll be appearing during Record Store Day under the clock tower by Waitrose on Witney - surely the highlight of his career so far!

Give us your track reactions

Don't forget to check out the Record Store Day site to see what your nearest indie shop is up to this Saturday.
