Detach and play!

I know we have our regular feature Album of the Week (look top right and you'll see it) but so many play with my ears that I thought I'd take the opportunity to flag up some others you might like.

Noah and the Whale had passed me by, mainly 'coz I didn't care for their chirpy single 5 Years Time, but the new album The First Days Of Spring seems to be less sugary folk pop and more Scott Walker with mournful strings and stirring choruses.

As glad as I was that Speech Debelle walked off with the Mercury Prize last week I'd been gunning for another couple of albums including the debut from The Invisible. Packed with hypnotic beats it's a grower, a bit like a clamatis with a bass guitar!

Third up is Bless The Weather by the quite brilliant John Martyn. Released in 1971 it's hardly new but I haven't bleated on about how good he was for ages. It's a gem brimming with achingly beautiful songs.

And the question mark? Well that's your cue to suggest ones that you've heard recently.

Today's TunA comes from yet another new album, not released until Nov 9, called Rumpus by Norwich based The Kabeedies. With it's punky feel and sharp male/female vocal interplay I'd keep an ear out for it and them.

Give us your track reactions
