They have got great energy, I particularly like the chorus but there is also a mess going on. Their sound needs to open out so it can be heard instead of cramming down the speaker at the listener. That sort of studio craft is still quite hard to come by.

Lastly, discipline, particularly in the drums which are a fraction ragged and overplayed.

They need a trusted advisor/producer to chill them out and bring out their sound for the stage and recording without putting out that fire. Go too far and you end up with fake punk, Billy Idol.

You can hear this process perfectly in the development of the clash from their earliest recordings.

"Headcase" on their myspace, brilliant track but does the same thing, charging in and getting tangled in the barbed wire. "Interlude" is a strange aberration.
