Funk or flunk?

Andy Cordy

Very sweet, and a good song but the only thing this has got in common with George Duke is the vocoder. I wondered when it opened, if a funk would emerge later. They get down in "Colpo di Batteria" but it's a funk for the ironing or the painting and decorating rather than the dance floor. The blues is played with an acquired knowledge of the appropriate scales not with a gut feeling. I'd recommend immersion in the work of Miles Davis before embarking on composing their next opus.

A more kind of chilled-out Ibiza funk than what I expected but a good tune nonetheless. I'm old so I like my funk a bit more roughed-up (but that says more about me .....). George Duke, Andy, now there's a blast from the past!

Getting tired of hearing those vocoder synth effects on voices. Interesting movement through the layers and colours, but it keep comming back to the vox fx, the singings great, just leave out the FX
