Are these two more than the sum of their parts?

Much of my CD collection is given over the the greats of female singer songwriters from Joni onwards. My initial reaction was that this is weak and disrespectful to that tradition, but the chorus and a few of the key lyrics totally saved it. I think the vocal tunes could me much less predictable and the plodding finger picked guitar has to be improved. Ghad! This is their second album!
