Are these Shills electrifying?

I can hear the Morrissey comparison but I will say the singer in The Shills irritates me a lot less. I enjoyed this a lot although I wanted a bit more of the distorted guitar and less of the power pop.

They actually look as young as they sound, which is refreshing. I think it is all pretty familiar, from the sound to the look/s but I have to say, they are very good. It's punchy, the song is really good in music and lyrics. Very promising!

Their myspace songs are more upfront mainstream AM rock but if I'd had to guess where they were from from today's track I'd have said Manchester around 1980 not Cambridge 2010. Hooray for the 80's!

Listening to this changed my mind about who should win the Mercury Prize. These 4 lads from Kendal come across like a cross between The Smiths, Joy Division and Talking Heads. Hypnotic and utterly great. CD £5 inc. p&p / Download £6.95
