Sometimes, influences we acquire lead us to make something entirely other than our inspiration. The product here is imbued with a left bank melancholia and has accordion. Whereas you might expect Jacques Brel, Clifton Chenier or even Piazolla, to my ear the song writing here is more like Squeeze "Labeled with Love". It's gentle and charming.

I can hear a lot of Country influence in this track - like a very chilled Neko Case. Good stuff.
