I sincerely hope that "This joint is jumpin' " on Saturday. Fat's, Eat your heart out!

I'm old enough to remember the launch of Tubular Bells at the Virgin shop under the bus station in Bristol.

It was Branson's second, I think. Then it was all Henry Cow, Pink Floyd and Captain Beefheart. Agh the good old independent!

Thanks for the record store memories chaps. My first single? Something from the Disney film the Aristocats.

My uncle owned (still does) a proper hardware shop and they sold strange 45's.

Don't forget to suss out what your local indie is up to this Saturday.
