He may never have been part of an Ashes winning team, but I bet he plays a better guitar.

This sounds to me like I imagine a fiery non-conformist minister singing with a guitar. I don't understand the significance of the "Salvation" and "Revelation" in the context of the song, if it is religious, discovery of God or merely of oneself but it is a powerful sentiment.

I think he will need to make more recordings of himself to understand the way he sounds to other people better. It's heartfelt, moving and rather strange. I liked it a lot.

The Buckley is an extraordinary version and all the more poignant for his sad loss. What a talent.

His own work is marvelous but it is perhaps in his wild interpretations of other people's music that he was at his finest and none better than this. How sad!

He has a very interesting voice that I like. The song is a bit too 'highbrow' for me using language too far removed from everyday life but because his voice has a strange quality, he can just carry it off.
