You're absolutely right, Ade. This is great stuff. My one small quibble with this track, which I've heard before, is a lack of clarity in the drums in recording.

This is particularly hard to achieve in pent up rock and roll contexts and is superbly illustrated in Hugh Padgham's engineering on XTC and Peter Gabriel records.

Great work of this kind costs big money I suspect but lots of younger engineers have learned from those Padgham and Steve Lillywhite.

Hugh Padgham was always great at recording drums, which is why he worked a lot with Genesis and Phil Collins.
