What do YOU make of this slice of brooding alt. folk?

Loved the feel, never realized the Doors were alt.folk. Also a bit like Mechanical Owl, whom I like a lot.

My only gripe is about the backing vocals which are too close to the lead and need differentiation of tone or color or just mixing back in. There was a very good, strange harmony briefly, but it was snatched away.

I thought there might be a wild fiddle solo but it never happened and the full band was off again in seconds. Contrast should be next on the list of acquisitions.

I love this song. There's an intensity and mood that makes me recall Joy Division.

The production I like, in that it is strange and unsettling in places (where does that drums bit in the middle come from) and this emphasises the effect of the song.
