Do these Smokestackers make to shake to the music or shake for another reason?

As a former muso from Bristol I ought to be 100% positive and there is always a lot going on there.

I find the sound here brittle and uncomfortable and the only thing that sounds like blues is the guitar.

It's "Rock Island Line" skiffle meets punked up rockabilly revival without the genius of Brian Setzer's guitar.

The style is timeless really but the mix is too harsh and they need some wild harp to spice it up.

Thanks for your comments folks. Always good to hear the views of the uninitiated to our band.

As singer and songwriter for the Shakers I take your comments on both my chins. I'm with you, the mix was a bit toppy but hey it was all done in two takes and the 3 tracks recorded in an afternoon. Tell that to Oasis!

Check out the reggae track on our myspace and the other blues track which has some a tasty harp break. We do have a guest female singer sometimes too. I look forward to guesting again sometime.

Come see us live, for a real taste of the Shakers flavour. Peace.

To Big Ade
The shaking is a result of a mispent youth and a jittery leg.
