Does this dash of Xmas cheer hit the spot?

There's a theory going around that we're in a new Dickensian age. Increase in the gap between rich and poor, sweatshop exploitation etc.
Then again Joni Mitchell in her song "River" from the album "Blue" (1971) says "It's coming on Christmas, they're cutting down trees...".
I think this song could offer a bit more metaphor and a bit less bleak neo-victorian preaching.
Humbug!

Graceland era Paul Simon and Vampire Weekend are evoked in this jaunty album from East Anglia. Afro-pop beats meet smart lyrics. CD £9.99 inc. p&p / Download £6.99
