most tunes tend to grab one almost straight away dont they ? however this is a toon which like a book one shouldnt judge by its cover. The start really made my skin crawl..."conkers shining...." ugghhhh, then it kicks in a warm walk on a sunny day kinda way...so , yup, gets the RHM thumbs up. I hope my thumbs will also be thumbs up come 5pm today when we have won the 2nd Test....gulp.....

I liked it until the Bosa Nova kicked in, happily it went away again soon after. It's trying hard to be all things to all people but it is clear and sweet and melodic and I see why they are hotly tipped. Much pop passes me by as I suspect the wave these people create will too.

I will quite simply say that every part of the arrangement annoys me. It's a wonderfully clear production but that just shoves all the frills and trills (an extravagance of spritely bass, backing vocals, and brass ) down your throat.

I actually think that if played straight on a acoustiic guitar it might be quite a very nice song...but it is hard to tell with all the preening instrumentation.

Yes - stop messing around with the trumpets and Bosa Nova rhythms and just sing the damn thing! Without all the gadgetry and trick stuff, I liked it.

Sorry had a very stressful day watching the Test Match and then lying down in a darkened room. Can you boys explain to me why we didn't enforce the follow-on - I've yet to get a plausible answer from Strauss and the Sky pundits? We need to start thinking like an Aussie .... !!
