Would you take a ride on this A train or is it best left in the sidings?

There is a self pitying tone which rather cuts across the spirit of pop and the jangly, christian pop feel. I think the vocal is under-rehearsed or the singer can't quite manage it. The backing is lovely if a little under the thumb. Insomniacs might like to click here for a curative "noir" take on lost sleep

If I could block out the lyrics I'd love this. The melody is great and the guitar is just delicious. But when I listen (because I can't help myself), to lines like 'waiting by the phone - and the phone's been disconnected and you didn't even know' I am transported to vistas of the Bonzo Dogs performing tragi-travesty and start laughing. Which, I suspect isn't the point.
