Just back from Penrith, Phew, what a blast!

Hope the audio journalism was everything you'd hoped and the Wychwood was the best yet.

I liked this very much; I dare say the "Punk" aspect is to do with the way they look or the expletives, I hear none of it in the sound. The arrangement is very soupy.

Ambitious sound of this kind needs expert production and lots of space which this lacks and badly lets the band down.

I hope they stick with the ambition and find a "Techy" who has studied Brian Eno.

Quite shocked by this. The Smilex I know and love is a high octane splurge of guitar noise and filth - music to crash your car to.

They have obviously taken a new direction. Interesting. It does get better after a few listens. However much I liked them in the '7' period, I never thought they would 'make it' in any way other than being one of my favourite local bands (even if they deserved more). Maybe this less rowdy approach could make me re-assess that.

To be honest Coolnoise this track is not representative of their last EP, but about the only one I dared play!!
