This man has amazing technique both on the strings and vocally, however, like a lot of great artists I think he finds it hard to decide what he's really selling. He has every conceivable style at his disposal, which his album shows. I bought it on the strength of the wildly different track you featured last time. As a sampler for what a session guitar player can do it is amazing.

I think you've summed up the album perfectly, but I actually liked the hotch-potch quality of it!

I see what you mean about Clapton but was also reminded of the Hendrix. Liked this.

The Us/Africa vid was quite amusing up to the bit with Bob Dylan when it became pant wettingly funny. It was a frightful song in the first place, cliched and deeply dishonest. i.e. "There's a choice we're making", yep to buy cheap, child/slave-labor produced, ecologically destructive products while munching down on foods exported from countries where people are starving NOT, in fact, 'saving our own lives'. So I have no problem with a send up of this, albeit well intentioned, piece of hypocrisy. So there. :)
