Lovely, poignant, relevant and as you say, delicate. I really like the way the tone and wobble in her voice reflects the state of mind suggested by the emotional turmoil in the words. Although the harmony is very pretty when it appears, it is not consistently applied and I'm not sure the overdub works. With a full backing, singing along with yourself is easier to disguise. Here I think there is another objective and my guess is that it is intended to highlight the "aloneness" which, in direct contrast to the jaunty tune is really bleak.
