What were your treasured childhood items and what stayed under the bed with the Look In / Twinkle annuals?

well for me Ade it has to be my Subbeteo, all of which is still quite lterally under my bed, gathering dust and worth hundreds no doubt. Also still have original "big" Airfix soldiers...! ahhh nostalgia, its not what it use to be eh....never had a Scalectrix though, never understood the appeal.RHM.x

I've found an Online Etch-a-Sketch! Look Here
The Gallery is truly sad! :-D

My favourite toys were American 'airfix' kits, mainly made by a company called Aurora. I used to collect the kits of famous movie monsters - Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Hunchback of Notre Dame etc. and the dinosaurs. Oh I used to love the dinosaur kits when I was a kid! Aeroplanes, Battleships and tanks never did it for me.

I used to like Airfix kits as well, but I used to set light to them and chuck them out of the window.

A friend of mine called Martin Drake used to collect those monster models - they used to freak me out. Didn't they glow in the dark?

I had the Airfix soldiers too, but used to number them and give them names and a history so that when they died I used to feel their pain!! I think I'd better stop now :-)

I used to love a game called The Fastest Gun.

I too had literally hundreds of Airfix HO-OO scale soldiers. I'd spend hours setting them up and have huge (bizarre) battles - The 8th Army vs Ancient Briton and Cowboy and Indians vs 1st World War Germans!!

Yes, yes, yes - Captain I'd forgotten about The Fastest Gun - loved it!!!

Now we're on this road how about -

Buccaneer

and the classic North Sea Oil topical now :-)

I wouldn't have let myself combine ages like that - it had to be Tommy or the Yank vs Gerry or the Japs. My fave were the Africa Corps and the Paratroop Reg. Happy days!! Never made me want to stab or shoot anyone
