I've got four versions of the wonderful Dark End of the Street on my ipod; soul, ska and country. I love them all, but have one absolute favourite. Which is yours?

James Carr https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tzcdNwIkmYA
Percy Sledge. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj3UdRmhgvM
Pat Kelly. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TswNk8XIUUg

Definitely the James Carr version for me - that rich voice is so full of Soul.

Yeah, the original's probably best, but for me, the one I heard first - in a tacky club in Streatham - and that stopped me in my tracks, it was soooo beautiful, was the Pat Kelly version. It's got such sweet memories, it'll always be my version of choice. Cheers. Just wondered :-)
