Lovely Bank holiday number.
At the emergence of punk, a quiet revolution was taking place in what we now know as "World Music" and western pop started to come in to contact with pop music from African musicians, many of them refugees from persecution like Juluka Johnny Clegg and Sipho Mchunu, who brought me my first taste of the soundtrack to South Africa resistance and the guitar sound from Soweto. The sound of this track reminds me more of JuJu music of Nigeria , of King Sunnmy Ade which I heard first around the same time.

Johnny Clegg was MY first taste of the S.African sound. I MUST get my hands on a copy of Cruel, Crazy Beautiful World!
