Is this foxy tale your cuppa?

I'm full of admiration for the confessional frankness of his songs. They are cleverly written and well crafted. That said, they are full of self pity and the pain of what love/obsession can bring and none of the joy. This makes them (I've only heard the Myspace track/the TunA tracks) unremittingly bleak. What gives me pleasure in a sad song is the reminder that the pain was somehow, just, worth the struggle because of the pleasure.

Got to admint I do like my bleak to be unremitting...
