I loved this. I have become very fond of near eastern classical music in the last few years and love the improvisations which are really jazz, bound into specific traditional melody/harmony structures.

Traditional arab/persian music has made it to Glastonbury and to the Proms on BBC Radio 3. This track gets pretty freakie in places and I admire the way the rules are stretched in order to accommodate the ideas.

The tasters from the album show a rich and complex background of jazz/jazz rock influences and the keyboard playing is very skilled. This modal style features on only one other number. They are a bit of a challenge for someone used to 4/4 time 3min pop songs!

Don't expect easy listening but it is brilliant.
