I liked this a lot. Sadly, not enough to unsettle Two fingers of Firewater, who's ditty yesterday has a catchy hook that, in "tin pan alley"terms , puts them a nose ahead.

The revival of folk styles is driven by and large by commercial pressures. As always in popular music, what is in fashion spawns hundreds of imitators but this is real and an authentic sounding homage to archaic styles.

Cecil Sharp would approve I think.
